How do I start?

Tap an empty flower to load a sound file, or press mic to record into the flowers in turn, then press play. The manual in the bar explains every part of the plate.

Why can I load only one file?

Humusmus plays one sound file for free (recordings from the microphone are always free). A single in-app purchase lets every one of the eight flowers take a file at the same time. If you bought it before — on this or another device with the same Apple ID — tap restore on the unlock board.

Nothing is playing

Check the silent switch and the volume first, then that play is on. Only one to three flowers are heard at once (VOICES) — the rest go on unheard and move the others. Raise VOICES to hear more of them at the same time.

My file will not load, or is cut short

Humusmus reads WAV, AIFF, CAF, M4A, MP3, FLAC and MP4 audio. Up to the first three minutes of each file are used.

The microphone records nothing

iOS asks for permission the first time. If it was declined, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and turn Humusmus on. Recording does not happen while the plate is playing — stop it first.

The moon does nothing

The moon uses the front camera. If permission was declined, turn it on in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. No picture is ever saved.

My sounds were gone when I opened it again

Humusmus keeps nothing between sessions: what you load and record lives in the app while it runs. Your own files stay where they were, so load them again.

The sound keeps going after I leave the app

That is deliberate: it keeps playing while you switch apps or lock the screen. To stop it, stop it in the app or close the app.

Can I export the sound?

Not from inside the app. Use the iOS screen recorder, or run the output into a recorder.
