Privacy Policy
Tunelume · Guitar, bass & ukulele tuner · k.odk
This app collects nothing. No personal data, no usage data, no identifiers. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code that could do any of those things. The app makes no network connections at all.
Microphone
A tuner has to hear your instrument, so the app listens through the microphone while it is open. The sound is measured on the device, a few dozen times a second, to find its pitch, and then thrown away. Nothing is recorded, nothing is saved, and nothing is sent anywhere. There is no speech recognition — the app only looks for a pitch.
The microphone stops when you leave the app.
What is stored on your device
- Your settings — instrument, tuning, A4 reference, capo, microphone mode.
- Tunings you make and name yourself.
- The tuning history: for each string you brought into tune, the date, the note and how far off it was before you tuned it.
All of it lives inside the app's own storage on your device. None of it leaves the device, and all of it is removed when you delete the app. The history can be cleared from Settings at any time.
Apple Watch
If you use the Watch app, the note being tuned and how far off it is are passed straight from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch, through Apple's own connection between the two. Nothing is stored on the way and nothing goes to any server.
Children
This is a tool for musicians, safe for any age. Since nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children either.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a future version ever collected anything, it would be described here first.
